When it's not really about the budget
by Matt Worley

Buying all of the alcohol you need at one place, even though you might save a few bucks if you split it between two or three stores.

Grass-fed anything.

Cutting collective bargaining.

Touting tens of billions in cuts, but fighting over $0.3 billion in spending for women's health.

Fake tans.

Golf.

War.

Capping film subsidies for in-state productions while signing tax rebates for out-of-state rail companies. Oh yeah, and eliminating a loan program for New Mexican made films.

That whole penny-wise pound-foolish thing.

Prepping students for the real world of being in debt by continually raising tuition so they can get a degree to get them a job to pay off their tuition.

Paying the extra buck or two for a salad instead of fries.

Paying any money to see Charlie Sheen live.

Giving oil and gas companies, which make billions in profit every year, tax breaks. And gas prices go up anyway.

Bringing a gun to the party.

Sending something through the mail that costs less than the postage.

Green lawns in the desert.

Paying bills on the Internet to save postage, but the transaction fee is more than a stamp.

That last drink at the bar.

Okay, it's never about the budget.

Matt Worley doesn't really budget his money as much as count on his fingers.
