New haircut

It was in the 60s and sunny yesterday. I wore my crazy thick blue Cosby sweater on my walk because there was a breeze. The neighborhood kids giggled and pointed.

Either I stayed up late last night or I slept in. I'm not sure which.

At three this morning a car alarm went off. Apparently it wasn't ready for the time change either.

It's cold this morning. And a few snowflakes flew through the air. It's still winter for a few days.

I've found that without a newspaper to amuse me at work, the time goes by much slower.

Disappointment and a feeling of being personally lost after the Lobos failed to make the winning shot in the semi-finals of the conference tournament. And yet, this loss probably means the conference gets four teams in. Which, overall, is good. I think.

While watching The Lost Boys last night, I realized Corey Haim mugged through much of his screen time. Was he already so famous he could "act" famous on screen even though he was supposedly playing a "regular" teenager?

I never saw Lucas. I think I was a bigger fan of the other Corey.

I really like Dream A Little Dream, but mostly because of Meredith Salenger.

Dying in your thirties is the new live forever. I don't have much time left to cash in on this.

After seeing clips from Avatar during the Oscars last week, I thought it looked more than ever like some stupid animated kids video game movie. I guess I'll Netflix it. I just wanted to see the blue boobies.

There was also this muse in my head: those Hollywood people get better drugs than the rest of us.

There was a mini-recession at the beginning of the century. I had a job during this time, and my only thought was that we'd never get rid of the bad workers because they'll never find any other job.

And in the early to mid-90s minimum wage was $4.25. This was my pay at most of my jobs. I never thought about career advancement at the time. I did take naps on top of my video store check out desk, though.

Whatever happened to video stores?

I haven't even been called back for any of the jobs I've applied to in the last year. But then I realized, every time I was called back for an interview since late 1996, I got the job. Guess I haven't hit the right one yet.

I don't have anything new. Slightly used is about the best I can do.

Did you know that you can't trade in digital copies of music or movies? That's illegal. Shouldn't that make digital files less expensive (by a lot) than physical CDs or DVDs? Complete depreciation of digital is instant.

I'm a little bit Irish. And a little bit rock and roll.

I have a two year old cell phone, which means I finished my two year service contract and can now get a new phone (and contract). But they're offering me less of a rebate on a new phone than I got the first time. The first phone was free, but the new one will cost me money. Luckily my two year old cell phone has aged well.

My neck feels colder this morning.
