6.7.09 Square pegs (round holes) by Matt Worley I had a review last week, but I wasn't invited. I'll find out how it went in the next week or so. Kind of reminds me of all the other reviews I've had--except for all those other ones I was able to give my case, demands, wants, yearns and vision for the future. Maybe this is better. I have no expectations of anything good coming from it. Before, I thought I could convince the money men with words. And they never listened to anything I had to say. Lots of disconnectedness lately. A lot of running around and not standing still in one place for long. Or staying in one place for a while, but always thinking it was time to move on. Ants in my pants. But, strangely, the insects haven't been coming around lately. I did catch a pair of roaches in my kitchen last night, but most of the creepy crawlers have been elsewhere. It seems like everyone else is hustling. Changing. Doing something to serve the future. But I'm repeating myself. And I'm not going anywhere. That over there? That's my angry chair. I look down alleys and in the trashed out side yards of homes when I'm out walking. I keep thinking I'm going to find a large envelope of cash. Untraceable. Alone. Just waiting to change someone's life. My life. But there's no money lying around anywhere. I saw a horrible ad for Bank of America (this is, actually, my bank) where non-actors stumble over their words to try explain that BofA really is lending money to people. They really are trying to put more people in debt. Really there is money available if you want it. And if you qualify. And maybe you just need help understanding how to fill out forms. Or to read contracts. They're there to help. Because there is money available. Y'know, taxpayer money. It's your money, but not your money. And it's there for you to borrow. They've got pens to sign the forms and everything. I don't need a loan. I've got a dead end job. At least I've got one of those, right? It's what we all say right after we complain about our jobs. The way it is these days, at least I still have a... This new mantra sucks. It's not completely dry, but it ain't moist. This isn't the new Eden. This is the land of buyer's remorse. But we bought at the liquidation sales, and you can't take anything back. All warranties are void. First come, first served. Everything has to go, and it's all sold as is. If it breaks, throw it away and curse the sky. We've all got kids to feed and there are no refunds. There's never been a better time to... The genie left for milder climes a long time ago. Rubbing that lamp is just gonna make it sore. But the Royals finally won again on Saturday. And Federer took the French for the first time. And today is the full moon. How will it pull your waves? Maybe there is a hidden cash stash somewhere. I'm just not looking hard enough.
