Congress passed a raise for itself recently. Because it's been doing so much for us. Because it's gotten so much done this year. Because, apparently, it don't make enough money as it makes asses of our country.

Now or later, we're paying for it. Us. The almost 300 million people who didn't get a raise this year. Who don't get free health care. Who don't get sent on paid vacations by lobbyists. We're paying for it. We're supposed to be the bosses of these people.

But we're the bitches. They spy on us. They know who we talk to. What TV shows we watch. Who and what we email. Where we surf on the Internet. How much money we make. How we spend our money. And we pay them to do this to us.

King George travels the country and world with a million dollar a day entourage of scary looking men in dark sunglasses. We have to shut down entire cities so King George can make hundreds of thousands of dollars to help re-elect these people who decided they aren't making enough money already.

And we pay for all of it. We pay for the security. We pay to not have access to the interstate when King George flies down it at a hundred miles an hour. And we pay (in the form of tax cuts for the rich) for rich people to pay $5000 to have their picture taken with King George. And $1000 for a plate of food worth about $5. So rich old white people can tell the Court Jester Rove that he looks cuter in person than he does on TV.

King George wants a line-item veto because he would be able to have more power if he could just cut out the little things he doesn't like from laws.

But why does he need that? He's above the law. He is the law. He is the King.

Everything he does, by fiat, is legal. Because he's King George.

And his lapdogs (Congress) scramble--not to tell him he's been breaking the law and needs to stop--to make it legal for him to do all the things he's been doing anyway.

While they sift through the data of our personal lives, apparently they leave the door wide open for people to steal laptops, steal identities, steal the personal information the government isn't entitled to anyway.

Our government talks about security, but gives away the personal data of everyone in the military, every veteran, every government employee.

But it isn't these leaks King George and Queen Cheney are concerned about. It's the leaks by the media about all of the illegal things they've been doing. That, to them, is "disgusting." Giving away the personal information of everyone else in the country, however, is all in a day's "work."

The work we pay them to do.

Congress and the Kingdom have done nothing this year. They talked loudly about immigration reform, but have done nothing. They talked about Social Security last year, and did nothing. They talk about Iraq, but do nothing. Everything keeps going on and on and on with no changes. But Congress gets a pay raise, and King George gets to keep his job.

And we spend a billion a week on a war no one can tell who is winning or when it might end. Because if we end it (if we win?), then we wouldn't be at war anymore. And King George might have to give back some power. We will stay at war so King George can keep plundering our money and our security and our personal lives.

What have we gotten? Well, we convicted a certified looney for the 9/11 attacks--even though he had nothing to do with them. And we arrested some heavy breathers in Chicago who breathed on the wrong government informant about their delusions of grandeur. And the gestapo can come in our houses without knocking. Like thieves in the night.

I'm glad our money has been well spent.
