10.23.05 Wake me when it's over by Matt Worley We are in a holding pattern right now. I can see where we need to be, sitting here in a seat by the window. I can see the bulls-eye, but no one wants to shoot yet. We are waiting for something more. We are waiting for something else. When will the work be done? It can't ever be done, right? If I actually finish, then I won't have any work to do and that'll be that. So I'll keep working and you'll keep asking and we'll circle back on this in the afternoon. I can't comment on the obvious. I can't tell you what you want to know because I don't want you to know that I know what you might want to know. It would do me no good to tell you now. I'll have to say something later, and that's when I'm going to say it. When I ask you if you want medium or large, I'm not trying to get you to buy the large. I'm merely giving you an option. I don't get paid any more whether you buy the large or not. But you might wonder if my asking if you want medium or large is really asking if you want to be a medium or large sized person. And, even if that is my intent, I must stress that is not actually the question I am asking. No one wants to answer questions anymore. No one has a comment of any substance. We are all waiting to see what will happen, and then we will tell you what we think. But we can't know what we think until we find out what is going to happen. It all depends on the future, and the future isn't here yet. When the future occurs, then maybe we can talk about this, but I can't talk about it right now. It offends me a little that you think I should try to answer questions when we don't know the future. If I had a DeLorean. If I had a flux capacitor. If I could turn back time. If I could drive into the past and tell everyone what has happened, would they change their minds before anything happens and fix all of this? Can't we go back to the beginning? Can't we start all over. Why do we have to reap what we sow? You are not the person I thought you were. I knew all of these things about you before I met you, and I can't reconcile the way you act with all these things I know about you. Is there some way you can explain who you are without changing the way I think of you? Is there a way I can understand what I don't actually know? I know we decided this already. And I'm just telling you we decided this, but if we want to change our minds, that's fine. I just wanted to reiterate we already made a decision, but the decision isn't binding. We can do whatever we want. We can do the opposite of what we agreed. We have the final say unless someone changes our mind. We need to anticipate this might happen. We need to work this into the schedule. We need to be ready to change our minds just in case our minds do, in fact, change. I'm not sure if we've fully taken this into account. I didn't finish the assignment last night, can I have an extension? My dog chewed my computer cables. My girlfriend baked cookies. I ate my girlfriend's cookies. I had to take a nap. I didn't wake up till this morning and I noticed the cables were chewed on. The cookies and my girlfriend were gone, and this assignment wasn't finished. I can't come into work this morning. It would just be impossible for me to make it. I feel bad. I can't really say what it is, but it's bad. I think if I didn't come into work, I might feel better. And I need to feel better if I'm going to come back into work. My brain is malfunctioning. I cannot defend anything I do today with rational logic. Please get out of my lane, I'm on the edge right now. We don't have any good tea. We only have Lipton. We burned up the coffee maker, and I can't wake up. I'm on a low carb diet, but those donuts look really good. I promised I'd stay off the smack, but all these hurricanes are freaking me out. There is a reluctance to take a stand. There is a tendency to stand on sand. There is a problem with passing the buck. Is passing the buck a phenomenon of capitalism or communism? I knew the answer in the past, but right now? How can I answer right now? Why do you need to know now? Red or green?
Finally, a question I can answer.
