| 6/15/26: Over and over again Last Charge of the Light Horse has been recording and releasing music for more than twenty years. If the name doesn't ring a bell, have a gander at this 19-song retrospective. Chances are you'll change your tune quickly.
An easy joke is that Vest's voice is such a pleasure that this massive set almost feeds an addiction. But it's less funny than true. These songs that ride the edges of folk, three-chord pop and psychedelic americana are a true joy to traverse. Those wondering why no one ever took up the mantle left by Thin White Rope will find an echo of satisfaction here. As a rule, I don't do greatest hits (or whatever), but in this case I'm not shy in endorsing the wonders that await. As long as this this isn't a valedictory wave, I'm enjoying this stroll immensely. | |
