4/6/26:
Odd pairing

DANO is a 34-year-old truck driver who is from Venezuela and lives in North Carolina. SADO is a 14-year-old singer from Cagua, Venezuela. After "a few online interactions" they recorded this album. DANO appears to be behind all of the music, and SADO provides the vocals.

JDP
Pensamientos Abstractos De Un Alma Distorsionada
(Gandola Records)

This is very basic guitar rock, some songs on the punk side, and some on the psychedelic side. Mostly punk, though, SADO is more of a speak-singer, though every once in a while she trips over a melody. As mediocre as that description sounds, this works. The pair are in sync with each other, and the songs have an offbeat charm.

Hardly complicated, but that's why this works. Some bands have to really work to find a streamlined sound like this. Perhaps it was the distance and limited studio time, but the first time is certainly the charm for this duo.

Given all the Venezuelan mess, the planned live shows might have to wait. And SADO's voice might mature into something different. But at this place and time, JDP rocks.
