1/2/25: From the wayback The former frontman for Oomph! returns with a sumptuous feast of metal and goth tinged electronic music that sounds very familiar. Oomph! albums always sounded spectacular, and this one is no different. Totally immersive and engaging.
In many ways, this is kind of the opposite of King's X lyrics, which were mystical in their Christian bent. Dero Goi takes the opposite approach, getting almost granular in his approach. This is a very personal approach to every song, whether it touches on religion, politics or life in general. I loved this sound back when I first heard Oomph! almost 30 years ago. The beats are infectious, and the sound is totally enveloping. A fun nostalgia trip that rewards with its own modern appeal today. Surprisingly solid.
